And let’s not overlook the fresh, cooling sweetness of the Aguas Fresca - Horchata or a vibrant Jarritos to perfectly balance the spices.
What truly sets Taqueria Mendoza apart is the lively, warm atmosphere combined with attentive service. Guests frequently mention the friendly, unpretentious vibe—a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you're a local dive-regular or a taco newcomer. The salsa bar is a highlight itself, featuring punchy, homemade green salsa that packed quite the punch for even seasoned spice lovers. The pickled onions there? “The bomb,” as one loyal diner put it, perfectly tangy and crisp, elevating every taco to new heights.
Customer experiences echo this culinary celebration. Eric Brittenham shared how the green salsa had him sweating in good ways, praising the bold flavors and generous toppings of cilantro and crunchy onions on tacos priced delightfully at just $2 each. William Johnston couldn’t stop raving about the carnitas torta, describing a food coma-worthy indulgence after savoring the soft bread and rich fillings. Meanwhile, Jeremy Darrimon found himself enveloped in the authenticity of the weekend vibe, where carnitas tacos steal the show and the atmosphere hums with local flavor and Spanish conversations.

This isn’t just a meal—it’s a vibrant, sensory journey where every dish tells a story of tradition, passion, and culinary craftsmanship.
So glad to have found this place. Their green salsa had me sweating, and takes a lot of heat to get me there. Only tried the tacos so far, and they were great. Tons of cilantro, crunchy onions, and two bucks each. Can't wait to see what else they have. Super nice service as well. Big thumbs up. And the pickled onion at the salsa bar are the bomb.
Might be the yummiest carnitas torta I've ever had. Super soft bread, stacked with carnitas, tomato, avocado, a little lettuce, and Salvadoran pickled veggies (curtido), then smothered in chili relleno sauce. Soo good. Food coma lasted two hours afterward.
First of all to the patrons that think this restaurant is expensive for its quality, it is not. Try buying 4 dollar mini tacos somewhere else now THATS expensive. 2.89? Get outta here. The asada, pastor and lengua tacos are to die for. Havent tried anything else, but when youre either 1) very hungry 2) craving tacos or 3) have the munchies, this is a good spot if youre in the area. The salsa for the chips is bomb - the green one is at least. Be careful with the red because its a lil spicy.
I went in on the weekend and was blown away and the quality of carnitas tacos. It was cash only and they only spoke a little English. The restaurant is run by different people on the weekdays. I was the only gringo and everyone else was eating soups.
